A few weeks ago, I received a phone call that stopped me in my tracks.
One of the amazing coordinators at Brownstone Gardens reached out to me with an urgent question:
"Stephanie, are you available to photograph a wedding today?"
The wedding was less than three hours away.
The reason?
The couple's photographer had stopped responding.
As a wedding photographer myself, I was honestly shocked. Weddings are one of the most important days in a person's life. Couples put so much trust into the vendors they choose, and I simply cannot imagine disappearing on someone during such a meaningful moment.
My first reaction wasn't about business.
It was, "Can I help?"
I quickly checked with my family, cleared my schedule, and let the coordinator know that if the couple needed me, I would be there.
I spoke with the groom, answered his questions, and went over the details.
In the end, the couple chose another photographer who was a better fit for their budget.
And honestly?
I still walked away feeling incredibly honored.
Because this story isn't about booking every wedding.
It's about trust.
What Does Being a Preferred Vendor Mean?
When a wedding venue chooses to recommend a photographer as a preferred vendor, it means far more than simply being listed on a website.
It means:
- Showing up consistently
- Communicating professionally
- Treating couples with kindness and respect
- Working well with other vendors
- Creating a stress-free experience
- Delivering beautiful work time and time again
And perhaps most importantly...
It means being someone people trust.
Why This Meant So Much To Me
I wasn't the final photographer chosen that day.
But I was the first photographer the venue called.
And to me, that's incredibly meaningful.
When there was an emergency, Brownstone Gardens trusted me enough to think:
"Stephanie will answer."
"Stephanie will help."
"Stephanie will take care of our couple."
That trust means more to me than I can express.
Because while photography is my profession, serving people is my purpose.
My Promise To Every Couple
I may not be the least expensive photographer.
And I'm certainly not the most expensive.
But every single wedding I photograph receives the same level of care, professionalism, and dedication.
My goal has never been to be the cheapest option.
My goal is to be the photographer you trust.
The photographer who answers your questions.
The photographer who helps you build your timeline.
The photographer who works seamlessly with your venue and vendors.
The photographer who shows up—every single time.
Because your wedding memories deserve nothing less.
And if a venue calls me in an emergency?
The answer will always be:
"If I can help, I'm there."
–Love, Stephanie
